Health Histories

Today I learned how to look up medications in our reference handbook! There is a lot of information in there. If a patient is taking any medications I must know which ones, dosage, duration, reason, and any dental complications. Next,I reviewed my patients medical history, which was quite simple because it was not very involved at all. I have to remember to be very thorough and ask probing questions because sometimes patients do not fill out the form accurately. Never assume! I am feeling much more comfortable in my new home (Unit 14)!! Hope all is going well for you as well.

I also was amazed at how many drugs can intertwine with dental work. I am just getting comfortable next to you in unit 13 too.

I had #14 last year. It was a good chair....ohh the memories;-) I wish you luck and may all your patients have a short list of meds they are on! It sure drains the time when the old man comes in who is on Nitroglyceren, Lisinopril, Metformin, Amaryl, Lantus, Metoprolol, Hydrochlorothyazide, a baby asprin and acetaminophen when needed.
