Well this morning I saw a very nice Class V patient. I did an exam on her and didn't miss anything...not that she had that much in the first place. That whole appointment was pretty uneventful.
This afternoon I saw a patient that hadn't had her teeth cleaned in only about a year but had quite a bit of buildup. One thing that I learned today is even if someone has mild-moderate buildup and healthy bone levels and tissue you really need to check their MAXILLARY anteriors. Yeah...I had no idea. I got all done with my scaling and during my check every single tooth up there had calculus. I did scale up there but I didn't go very deep because I didn't want to traumatize the tissue. Well I sure didn get in there...it was difficult to instrument...to get an instrument that far in, with tight tissue, and the correct angle but I got it done (with a lot of help from JA)! Yeah, so check out those max anteriors!
