Today we were introduced to the extraoral exam. This procedure (coupled with the intraoral exam) is important for the early detection of the many diseases that are manifest in the oral cavity and adjacent structures. It is simple to perform but so often neglected by the dental professsional. I did well identifying the appropriate structures and now I need to determine my own routine for performing this exam efficiently and accurately.
