Kids...gotta love 'em

I feel that I did a little better with organization today. I saw a three year old child so the appointment routine was much different, we don't have to do a lot of the assessments that we do for adults (like vital signs, cancer screening, probing, etc). The different routine threw me off a bit but everything went very well. The patient was a little shy at first but we had fun playing with the "squirt gun" and wearing our cool sunglasses and in the end he had a fantastic first dental experience. We even tried to take "pictures" of his teeth but his mouth was a little too small so we'll wait a while for that.
I finished with my patient early so I made some calls to my patients for next week and read through some charts for some patients that have already been seen in our clinic. It is nice to have a little better idea of what to expect. My goal is to get more comfortable with my routine, improve organization, and hopefully I will be able to focus more on my patient than worrying that I am forgetting something.
