Films and Oraqix

On Tuesday my patient ended up being a Class II which was great. She needed an FMX for her dental appt with Midtown so I decided to take it using the digital system. She had such a tiny mouth and no pain tolerance so it was really difficult to get all the shots with that huge sensor. I had to use a pedo sensor for some shots. I am glad I did it with the digital though because it could have been just as difficult with the conventional film but I was able to see my mistakes right away and correct them.
I also got to watch my instructor use Oraqix. It looks really easy and it was somewhat effective. It helped with her sensitivity but it didn't last very long so it had to be reapplied throughout the appt. It is definitely a good alternative to being numb and patients with anesthetic anxiety.
